Speech #2 outline

Problem: CTE is a major problem in sports, specifically in Iowa City. There is college, little league and high school football. So this affects a lot of people. More than just the players but the family and future kids wanting to play. Along with the vast amounts of crowds that the college team brings in, which in turn boosts businesses profits.

Solution: Plastic helmets have been around for 78 years. They still have not innovated them enough to efficiently protect against concussions. So the answer, leather helmets. Yes, this sounds counter intuitive. But if they have not found a solution in 78 years, maybe it is time to take a step back. Look at rugby. They have "helmets" called scrum caps that players supposedly play more dangerously in thinking that they are protecting their heads. These scrum caps however have no effect on player safety. This is very similar to football helmets now. Players believe that their heads are protected so they will put themselves in plays that are much more dangerous than they would if they did not have helmets on.

Justification: If rules like this were implemented, the CFB would not have to make up all of the laws that they have been enacting to protect the players that make football less fun to watch. Which will continue to result vast crowds of fans giving Iowa City and the University money. Along with helping out the dying sport of football among youth, who will learn many life lessons from participating. Also, it will keep players healthy and happy, good for both them and their families.

Introduction When opening up and maintaining a restaurant over a long period of time, there are numerous factors that the owner needs to take into account. There has been a substantial amount of studies done on this topic, and rightfully so. This is because “over a quarter of restaurants fail within their first year of operation” (Lu, Song, Dock 2014). Owners in turn will do whatever they can to keep their business afloat. Location. Location. Location. How often is this saying used?
