Writing assignment 1

We are writing this essay to familiarize ourselves with the style of writing that we will be using and seeing in our field. For example, I am a business major, and I will have to write papers, or give speeches with the main goal of persuading someone to buy something. I think that interviewing an expert in the field will be a great way to get some personalized questions that I would not otherwise receive from a website, while also getting familiarized with interviewing, something that I'm sure I will use a lot in my field of study. This will largely improve my research skills because of the fact we need to find 3 academic and 3 non-academic sources.

1. Where would I start to try and find an academic source?

2. What type of questions should I be asking the interviewee?

3. How does APA work? I am not familiar with it at all, I used MLA all throughout High school.

Introduction When opening up and maintaining a restaurant over a long period of time, there are numerous factors that the owner needs to take into account. There has been a substantial amount of studies done on this topic, and rightfully so. This is because “over a quarter of restaurants fail within their first year of operation” (Lu, Song, Dock 2014).
