What is rhetoric

Rhetoric comes from the Greek word "speak". It is using speech or writing in an argumentative way. Plato, a famous philosopher, called rhetoric "the art of winning the soul by discourse". Meaning that it is an art, and the best of the best can win over your feelings of a subject through persuasion by speech or writing. Donald Trump is the modern master of this subject. His speeches may have no factual evidence, they may not even be correct, but he can persuade the audience with ease. He is able to make ideas and phrases stick in your head using ethos, pathos and logos. According to a website one should follow rhetoric if he/she wants to be an editor in a political news site.
